June 2026 in Review

June was a slow month for new sign-ups, in fact it's the quietest we've had all year. At the same time, the clinicians who are already here are using SnapMedic more, and more deeply, than they ever have. Those two things are both true, and there are some reasons why.

Growing our community

A little over 500 new clinicians joined SnapMedic in June, taking total downloads past 13,000. New sign-ups have softened for a few months now, and June was no exception. Almost all of that growth is now UK-based and organic, clinicians finding us on the App Store or hearing about us from a colleague.

Word of mouth is slowing down and I think that was always going to happen. In addition I have been far less active on social media and in the community due to other commitments and time sinks.

As always if SnapMedic has been useful to you on shift, leaving a review on the App Store or Google Play does more than almost anything else to help other clinicians find us.

If you want to go further, we run an ambassador program over on our Discord server. Join the server, grab your referral link, and share it with colleagues. There's also a small sticker and poster shop if you'd like something to put up around your workplace.

What people used in June

Calculators are still the most-used part of the app: 416 clinicians ran one in June. Across the rest:

  • 309 used the Respiration Counter
  • 288 logged a cardiac arrest
  • 232 logged shifts, and the regulars averaged nearly eight each
  • 203 worked through the ECG Interpretation tool
  • 157 ran flashcard study sessions, the most committed averaging close to 30 reviews
  • 132 took quizzes
  • 117 practised with AI OSCE
  • 83 logged CPD skills

Most of these numbers are down a touch on May, which is what happens when fewer new users are arriving to try things for the first time. Overall a smaller, more committed core group of users are using the app more.

Shift Tracker had a great month

If there's one feature to celebrate this month, it's Shift Tracker. It was the only part of the app to grow in both users and usage, up about 6% on May with a real jump in how much people logged. It's quietly become the most popular feature in the app, which makes sense because we all want to be paid!

OSCE Practice

OSCE had a solid, steady month: 277 sessions started and 138 finished, a completion rate just under 50%. Scores stayed strong, from the mid-60s at Foundation up to 90% for those tackling Intermediate scenarios, so the people who finish are performing well.

We are looking at improving this in the coming months as University courses start up again and we can get more feedback from students.

What's next

The honest summary is that the product is working and distribution isn't, and the summer is about fixing the second half of that.

The first job is just getting the word out properly again: ambassadors, some content, a couple of partnerships. The plans have been sitting there for a while, and June was the month it became obvious they need to actually run rather than exist as a document in a lost folder somewhere.

The bigger features in the background, the organisation tools and some new learning features, are still in progress and tied up in partnerships, which is part of why the last couple of months have been quieter on the shipping front. Wellbeing is finally about to ship, we've been waiting on some reviews from partner agencies.

We also have two huge enterprise projects on the pipeline to help bring SnapMedic to more organisations and support their daily workflows. These will be a big focus for the rest of the year and into 2027.

Thank you

A slow month on the surface, but a reassuring one underneath. The core is strong, the tools are sticking, and the app is on a firm footing financially. What we need now is more clinicians through the door, and that's something I need to work on.

If there's something you'd like to see, a calculator, a flashcard topic, an OSCE scenario, tell us on the feedback portal. Most of what we ship starts life as a one-line note there.

See you next month.
